WASHINGTON, DC — Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 2061, the Equitable Access to Care and Health (EACH) Act, introduced by Rep. Rodney Davis (R-IL) to expand the religious-liberty exemption to Obamacare’s individual mandate. Upon passage, House Ways and Means Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) issued the following statement.

“We shouldn’t force anybody to buy health insurance against their will—and especially against their faith. But Obamacare forces people to buy a plan—even if they don’t use health care because of their religious beliefs. This bill says if you don’t use health care as a matter of faith, then you are exempt from the individual mandate—simple as that. I’m proud to support this long-overdue change to protect the religious liberties of all Americans, and I thank Rep. Davis for making it a priority.”
