HEARING: Brady Announces Witnesses for Hearing on International Tax Reform

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) announced the witnesses for the Committee’s upcoming hearing focusing on the Global Tax Environment in 2016 and Implications for International Tax Reform. The Committee is pleased to welcome Michelle Hanlon, Raymond Wiacek, Itai Grinberg, and Edward Kleinbard.

  • Michelle Hanlon is the Howard W. Johnson Professor and a Professor of Accounting at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where she teaches courses on taxation, business strategy, and accounting. She is the editor of a leading accounting research journal, and the co-author of multiple textbooks on financial accounting, taxes, and business strategy.

  • Raymond Wiacek is a Partner in the Jones Day Law Firm’s practice involving the tax and business aspects of financial and international transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, cross border financing, and transfer pricing. 

  • Itai Grinberg is an Associate Professor of Law at the Georgetown University Law Center, where he specializes in cross-border taxation issues and U.S. tax policy. Before joining the Georgetown faculty, he served in the Office of Tax Policy at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Additionally, in 2005 he served as Counsel to the President’s Advisory Panel on Federal Tax Reform. 

  • Edward Kleinbard is the Ivadelle and Theodore Johnson Professor of Law and Business at the University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law and a Fellow at The Century Foundation. Prior to joining USC, he served as Chief of Staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation.

As Chairman Brady previously announced, the Committee will hold this hearing on Wednesday, February 24 at 10:00 AM in room 1100 of the Longworth House Office Building.
