April 18, 2016

In 2014, a tax return was filed in Congressman Jim Renacci’s (R-OH) name. Unfortunately, the return that was filed was not his. Congressman Renacci is sharing his story and leading the charge to end the growing threat of tax-related identity theft. Core components of his reform legislation will be in effect for the 2017 tax season.

Tomorrow, Rep. Renacci will testify at the House Ways and Means Oversight Subcommittee hearing on the Tax Return Filing Season. Members will discuss efforts to protect Americans from identity theft related tax fraud and cybersecurity attacks. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Commissioner John Koskinen and other government officials will also testify before the Subcommittee. Click here for more information on the hearing.
