WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) issued the following statement regarding today’s findings by the World Trade Organization (WTO) Appellate Body that India continues to engage in unfair trade practices that discriminate against American solar manufacturers and workers.
“Today’s report is a victory for American solar manufacturers and workers. India’s domestic content requirements, which have been in place since 2011, discriminate against American-made products and are a clear violation of India’s WTO commitments. And since 2011, American solar exports to India have decreased 90 percent. Today’s victory highlights how America wins when we strongly enforce our trade agreements and hold our trading partners accountable when they break the rules and seek to gain an unfair advantage over American manufacturers.”
