Brady Statement on November Jobs Report

December 02, 2016

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement in response to the Department of Labor’s November 2016 jobs report:

“While I’m glad to see more gains in employment, it looks like the unemployment rate fell in part because many people gave up looking for work. We need to create more opportunities for all Americans. For eight years, the American people have watched Washington focus on everything but jobs—and that’s about to change. I’m very pleased that the incoming Trump Administration is already making it clear that job creation and economic growth are their top priorities. We have a lot of work to do in order to grow our economy—and Ways and Means Republicans are ready to hit the ground running. We look forward to working with President-elect Trump and his team on legislation and policies that will grow our economy and deliver opportunity across the country.”

Note: The Department of Labor reported today the economy added 178,000 jobs in November and the unemployment rate was 4.6 percent.
