Here’s what Rep. Noem said:

“Hi everyone, welcome to the beautiful state of South Dakota. House Republicans on the Ways and Means Committee are working hard to reform our broken tax code.

“That matters to everyone in the country and the people of South Dakota because South Dakota is filled with taxpayers who understand keeping taxes low helps them and their families and future generations.

“South Dakota is filled with farmers and ranchers who understand repealing the death tax is critically important to passing on their operations to the next generation.

South Dakota is also filled with busy families who want a simpler process. They want to pay their taxes without having to paying hundreds of dollars to somebody else helping them do it correctly.

“South Dakota is filled with small businesses who understand they want the loopholes and gimmicks gone, they just want lower rates.

“That’s why we are working hard everyday to do the first tax reform that we have seen in 30 years in this country.

“We want to compete and we want to sell to customers outside of the United States, we want to grow our economy, and pass on our small businesses, farms, and ranches to future generations. That’s the American dream and that’s why we are working to do tax reform on the Ways and Means Committee.”
