Brady Statement on Executive Order to Review Burdensome Tax Regulations

April 21, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) today released the following statement after President Trump signed an Executive Order calling for Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin to review burdensome tax regulations:

“Every week, President Trump delivers on his promise to eliminate excessive Washington red tape that makes it harder for workers to find good jobs and bigger paychecks. His new Executive Order is a critical step in repealing damaging Obama Administration tax regulations that discourage economic growth across our country. I appreciate the Trump Administration’s thorough review of all these regulations and encourage them to work to roll back the section 385 regulations and estate tax regulations that will hurt American workers and their families.

“This Executive Order is another important step to make our tax system simpler, fairer, and more pro-growth. I look forward to working with the President on pro-growth tax reform and other policy issues that will help grow our economy and create jobs.”
