“Hi, I’m Vern Buchanan, and I’m fortunate to represent Southwest Florida. We’ve got sunshine, beaches, and a quality of life that can’t be beat.
“About a thousand people a day move to Florida because of our booming economy, which is driven by small businesses.
“Our small businesses employ more than 3 million people. The jobs created by these entrepreneurs help families put food on the table and contribute to the vibrant communities they call home.
“That’s why tax reform is so important. Our outdated tax code forces small businesses to pay more taxes than the world’s largest corporations. That’s wrong, and that’s bad for our economy.
“Think about that. ‘Mom and pop’ stores on Main Street pay a higher tax rate than large companies. Fixing the tax system will help small businesses—allow them to grow and hire even more people. That’s not just good for our economy, that’s good for families and good for our community. Florida is an amazing place, and tax reform will make it even better.”
