September 26, 2017

Here’s what Rep. Roe said:

“. . . last week back in the district I toured a number of businesses and we talked about issues that were important to them. And obviously, one of the major things that came up was tax reform. We have the highest corporate tax rate in the world for industrialized nations. And everywhere I went, the businesses along with the folks that work there understand that we need to cut tax rates for not only individuals but for businesses. And the other thing that I heard them say over and over again was to help reform healthcare – those were the two issues that were the hot button issues.

“We’re here back in the Capitol. We have an opportunity, really a generational opportunity, to change the tax code in this country for the better. Number one: to lower rates for individuals so that hard working people and families can keep more of what they earn everyday. And number two: businesses that can have some reduction in their rates can be competitive around the world keeping those great jobs right here in America. So that’s what our mission is. We’re going to learn about it this week, and hopefully roll it out so that we can jumpstart this great economy in this wonderful country we live in called America.”
