Brady Statement on Rep. Pat Tiberi’s Decision to Retire from Congress

October 19, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement regarding Rep. Pat Tiberi (R-OH) announcement that he will retire from Congress by January 31, 2018:

“From the Ohio State House to the House of Representatives, Pat Tiberi has devoted his career to improving Ohioans’ lives. I’ve been honored to serve beside him on the Ways and Means Committee, where he has played an invaluable role in shaping historic legislation as a longtime member and the chairman of three different subcommittees. With Pat’s leadership, Congress has passed and the President has signed into law critical legislation to strengthen America’s trade agreements and trade enforcement laws, provide tax relief to hardworking Americans, help hospitals improve patient care, and strengthen Medicare for seniors and individuals with disabilities. And later this year, we can add to his many contributions delivering once-in-a-generation tax reform. I’m so grateful for Pat’s service, friendship, and hard work on behalf of the people of Ohio.”
