WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) issued the following statement after the Senate Finance Committee approved its version of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act – legislation to overhaul the nation’s tax code for the first time in 31 years:
“I congratulate Chairman Hatch and the Senate Finance Committee on this important step toward delivering pro-growth, pro-family tax reform. After years of work, the House and Senate both took bold action this week and are the closest we have been since 1986 to passing comprehensive tax reform legislation that will dramatically improve the lives of all Americans. I look forward to continuing our work together in the weeks ahead and sending tax reform to President Trump’s desk this year.”
