Washington, D.C. – Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement on the Congressional Budget Office’s 2018 Long Term Budget Outlook:
“One thing has been clear for years: Washington does not have a revenue problem; it has a spending problem. Raising taxes on hardworking Americans—as Democrats want to do—will not solve our out-of-control debt. It would undermine the newfound surge in confidence and economic growth brought on by tax reform. The reality is, to fix our national debt problem, Republicans and Democrats need to come together to address both mandatory and discretionary federal spending.”
