Brady Lauds Highest Small Business Optimism in 45 Years

September 11, 2018

Washington, D.C. – Today, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) announced that its small business optimism index for August 2018 clocked in at its highest level in 45 years.

Upon the release of this report, House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) said:

“Boosting business confidence was a goal of Republicans’ work to transform our tax code last year. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act took bold steps to create an environment where our Main Street businesses could finally compete and win after being dragged down by the Obama economy for far too long. With a new historic 20 percent deduction for pass-through business income – which our Committee will soon vote to make permanent – as well as many other pro-growth provisions designed for our small businesses, these local job creators now have a tax code that works for them.”
