Brady Applauds Senate Finance Approval of USMCA

January 07, 2020

Washington, D.C. – Today, the top Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement after the Senate Finance Committee approved the new United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA):

The Senate Finance Committee’s strong vote in favor of advancing USMCA to the Senate floor is a significant milestone. This new trade deal ensures America will continue to improve American lives and provide new jobs and growth. I commend Chairman Grassley for his leadership in building support for this agreement in the Senate, and I encourage swift action on the Senate floor so we can send this agreement to the President’s desk as soon as possible. It’s time to bring this deal across the finish line so we can bring North American trade into the 21st Century.”
