The details:
Once again, public-private partnerships are proven critical to fighting the novel coronavirus. As part of the CARES Act, Americans will be receiving financial assistance through tax rebates up to $1,200.
For taxpayers who receive their yearly tax refund through direct deposit, these funds will be hitting your bank account soon. But for those who don’t usually file taxes, they can now go onto the IRS’s website and register to receive these funds.
This tool was developed by the IRS and the Free File Alliance. “People who don’t have a return filing obligation can use this tool to give us basic information so they can receive their Economic Impact Payments as soon as possible,” said IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig. “The IRS and Free File Alliance have been working around the clock to deliver this new tool to help people.”
