October 06, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Top Republican on the Ways and Means Committee Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) kicked off a Republican Meeting debunking Democrats’ myths, lies, and debunked claims about taxes and Republican tax reform by saying:

“[Democrats’] wasteful spending and crippling tax hikes will drive prices up even higher, kill millions of American jobs, and usher in a new era of government dependency with the greatest expansion of the welfare state in our lifetimes.

“As Ways and Means did its committee work on the President’s economic agenda, Democrats trotted out the same old tired claims on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

“Today, we’ll correct the record on six of the Democrats’ myths, lies, and debunked claims about Republican tax reform.

“We’ll also set the record straight on how President Biden, with the help of progressives, is breaking his pledge to Americans making less than $400,000 a year.

“In fact, he’s already broken this pledge with soaring inflation.

“Higher prices this year under President Biden are on track to be the highest in 40 years. Major increases in food, energy, and soon, housing, are crushing families and small businesses.

“Bidenflation is a tax hike on family budgets, driven by massive Washington spending.

[…]

“American families know that Bidenflation will grow even worse if Democrats ram through trillions of dollars in more spending along with crippling tax hikes on Main Street businesses.”
