Brady: November Jobs Report is a Nightmare Before Christmas

December 02, 2022

After the November jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed an increase to 3.7 percent unemployment and a decline in labor force participation, Ways and Means Republican Leader Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement:

“This report spells more bad news for families and seniors. America’s workforce continues to shrink for the third consecutive month, and the dangerous wage-price spiral created by President Biden’s poor economic policies ensures high and persistent inflation for the future.

“For some reason, even with job cuts doubling from last month, the White House is absolutely clueless about the very real labor shortage still hurting Main Street businesses and driving prices higher. Worse, the Administration hasn’t lifted a finger to help workers reconnect with jobs.

“And for many workers, they are struggling with real wage losses and real pay cuts, making sticker shock a big part of this year’s holiday gift shopping experience – driving record amounts of credit card debt.

“Families and Main Street businesses are going to have a hard time celebrating this year.”
