ICYMI: New Evidence CONFIRMS Hunter Biden’s Statement to Congress Regarding Infamous WhatsApp Message was a lie, DOJ Must Act

June 18, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – New evidence, provided by IRS whistleblowers and released by the Ways and Means Committee on May 22, 2024, indisputably shows Hunter Biden broke the law when he lied under oath during his February 28, 2024 deposition before Congress. The Ways and Means, Judiciary, and Oversight Committee referred Hunter Biden to the Department of Justice for prosecution for these crimes on June 5, 2024.

The most glaring evidence that Hunter Biden lied to Congress in his testimony concerns the now infamous WhatsApp message he sent threatening a Chinese business associate while mentioning his father, Joe Biden.

During his February 28th deposition, congressional investigators questioned Hunter Biden regarding the WhatsApp message that he sent to a Chinese business associate where he stated:

“I’m sitting here with my father, and we would like to understand why the commitment has not been fulfilled.” – Hunter Biden, July 30, 2017

Just days later, $5 million flowed from an affiliate of the Chinese energy company, CEFC, to companies connected to Hunter and James Biden, the President’s brother.

This piece of evidence is key to understanding the Biden family’s lucrative overseas influence peddling scheme, as well as President Joe Biden’s possible involvement. The message shows that, at a minimum, Hunter Biden used his father’s name to shake down a Chinese business associate, Raymond Zhao, for money, and it worked.

In his sworn testimony in February, Hunter Biden claimed he was “drunk and probably high” when he sent this message. He also claimed:

“The Zhao that this is sent to is not the Zhao that was connected to CEFC” and he “had no understanding or even remotely knew what the hell I was even Goddamn talking about.”

On May 22, the Ways and Means Committee released additional phone records of Hunter Biden’s WhatsApp messages showing that statement to investigators  was a lie. The President’s son communicated with only one “Zhao” – Raymond Zhao. Not only did Zhao respond from the same phone number, but his message indicates he knew exactly what Hunter Biden was talking about, and Hunter Biden continued to communicate with the same “Zhao” phone number for an additional three months regarding matters related to CEFC.

Hunter Biden’s lies cannot go unanswered. Lying to Congress is a serious crime, and the Department of Justice must hold Hunter Biden accountable like they would any other American citizen.
