America’s Next Generation of Doctors: ObamaCare is Bad Medicine

April 13, 2012

A recent shows that physicians under the age of 40 are pessimistic about the future of the U.S. health care system, citing the Democrats’ health care law as the main reason why.  One respondent noted that the Democrats’ law could jeopardize patients’ access to care saying, “There will be an increased shortage of physicians to provide primary care and decreased access to care.”

The survey, commissioned by the Physicians Foundation, a non-profit organization that promotes the work of practicing physicians and seeks to improve care quality, found:

  • 49 percent of respondents believe the law will have a negative effect on their practice;
  • 57 percent of respondents are pessimistic about the future of America’s health care system; and,
  • 31 percent of respondents are “highly pessimistic.”

Even the small percentage of those who are optimistic about the future of health care are pessimistic about the Democrats’ health overhaul.  One respondent’s reason for optimism: “I feel the next president will reverse ObamaCare.”  Now that is just what the doctor ordered!
