August Round-Up: A few 📸 From Ways and Means Members Over the August Work Period

Ways and Means Republicans spent time in their districts over the August work period, hearing from constituents on issues like the importance of passing USMCA, the need for better rural health care opportunities, and the ways that small businesses are thriving thanks to the Tax Cut and Jobs Act. Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) met with the air team and local officials about access to rural health care, and spoke about his new role on the Rural and Underserved Communities Health Task Force.

Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) spent August traveling around the Eighth Congressional District of Texas where he held multiple town halls to discuss the dangers of Medicare For All. In Texas alone, 21 million people would be kicked off their plans if the socialist, government takeover was implemented.

 

Rep. Ron Estes (R-KS) visited a family dairy farm in Harvey County to learn about their operation. U.S. dairy is among the many winners in the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement.

Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-IN) held a roundtable discussion with Hoosier farmers, local agriculture stakeholders, and USDA Under Secretary Ted McKinney to discuss the benefits of trade and the importance of passing USMCA.

 

Rep. Darin LaHood (R-IL) welcomed Secretary Perdue to the Farm Progress Show, the largest farm show in the US, where they held are forum with Illinois farmers to discuss issues facing them, particularly the need to pass USMCA.

Rep. Tom Reed (R-NY) visited a local small business that has been able to expand their efforts nationally thanks to the strong economy from Republican tax reform.

Rep. Jodey Arrington (R-TX) visited with employees of Tower Fab in Olney, Texas to discuss the benefits of pro-growth policies of tax reform and regulatory relief during the company’s participation in the NFIB’s “Small Business Challenge.”
