Brady Praises House Action on Anti-Poverty Bill

March 17, 2016

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) praised the House for passing the Evidence-Based Policymaking Commission Act (H.R. 1831).

“This bill will help us better understand which federal programs help lift people out of poverty – and which ones continue to fail the American people. With better data and information, we can hold programs accountable and support the programs that truly change lives. I congratulate Speaker Paul Ryan and Senator Patty Murray, the original sponsors of this legislation, for their bipartisan efforts to shepherd it through the House and Senate. By sending this bill to the White House quickly, House Republicans are moving forward with another important part of our agenda to help low-income Americans escape poverty and climb the economic ladder.”
