Brady, Reed Bid Farewell to Amy Shuart as She Departs Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Ways and Means Republican Leader Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) and Republican Leader of the Social Security Subcommittee Rep. Tom Reed (R-NY) released the following statements on the departure of Amy Shuart, Subcommittee Staff Director for Social Security for the House Committee on Ways and Means Republicans, after 12 years of service. Shuart rose to the position of Subcommittee Staff Director after serving as Professional Staff focusing on Social Security solvency plans and fraud prevention.

“Amy Shuart has helped millions of seniors and other beneficiaries through her tireless work to address the critical challenges facing our Social Security program,” said Rep. Brady. “She is talented and hard-working, and for 12 years, has sought to safeguard this important program for generations of Americans to come. Thanks to her thoughtful and dedicated work, the Ways and Means Committee—and Congress as a whole—has seen tremendous bipartisan successes. We wish her the best as she moves on to her next step.”
