Camp Statement on October Jobs Report

November 08, 2013

Washington, DC – Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) released the following statement in reaction to the September jobs report from the U.S. Department of Labor.  A net total of 204,000 jobs were created and the unemployment rate for October increased to 7.3 percent from 7.2 percent in September.

“If you look at who is working and who isn’t, this is the worst economy since the late 1970s.  Washington needs to start working together to bring some real economic security back to American families.  That begins with protecting families and small businesses from the higher costs imposed by ObamaCare and real solutions to strengthen the economy – job-creating tax reform, not job-killing tax hikes.”
