Camp Statement on Reported ObamaCare Enrollment Data

December 11, 2013 — Press Releases

Washington, DC – Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) made the following statement regarding reports that 365,000 Americans selected a plan in the federal and state Exchanges in October and November.

“The Administration set an enrollment target of 1.2 million by the end of the November, and today’s reports show they are continuing to miss critical benchmarks, putting health coverage at risk for millions of Americans.  Based on the information we have, the Administration will need to enroll over 100,000 people per day, every day, for the remainder of December.  It is highly unlikely that this will happen, and the consequences are serious – more Americans will have seen their health care plans cancelled than gained coverage under ObamaCare, many Americans will experience a gap in health care coverage, and premiums will skyrocket in 2015.”

HHS official projections for state and federal Exchanges for October and November: 1,201,220
Inflated “enrollment” numbers in state and federal Exchanges for October & November: 365,000
Inflated percent of October & November “enrollment” achieved: 30
Number of Americans that need to enroll, every day, for the rest of December: Over 100,000
