Health Subcommittee Provides Update to Post-Acute Care Legislation

December 16, 2016

Today, the Ways and Means Health Subcommittee provided an updated draft of the Medicare Post-Acute Care Value-Based Purchasing Act of 2015 to further incorporate stakeholder feedback. The bipartisan legislation, introduced in July 2015, will reform Medicare Part A to improve the delivery and quality of care in post-acute care (PAC) settings such as home health agencies, long-term care hospitals, or skilled nursing facilities.

Since the legislation was introduced, Members and staff have been working with PAC providers and other stakeholders to ensure the legislation delivers better outcomes for our seniors, including a hearing with physicians, researchers, and providers who offered their policy ideas earlier this year.

The Committee encourages stakeholders to continue providing feedback on the legislation based on the draft release today.
