WASHINGTON — Today, the House of Representatives approved legislation to establish trade promotion authority or TPA. Upon passage, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Paul Ryan issued the following statement:
“The world is looking to America for leadership, and today, with a bipartisan vote, the House delivered. Establishing TPA will give the U.S. the leverage it needs in trade negotiations to win a fair deal for the American worker. And this bill will rebuild our credibility with our friends and rivals alike. This vote shows we can still do big things in this country, and now I urge the Senate to send the bill to the president’s desk.”
