ICYMI: Brady Responds to Disappointing GDP Report on Fox News

May 02, 2016

On Sunday, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) joined Leland Vittert on Fox News Channel’s America’s News HQ to discuss the news that during the first quarter of the year, our economy grew at the slowest rate in two years.

In response to the report, Chairman Brady said:

“This latest report says that very slow recovery is getting slower. That means more families are going to struggle … The question is, are we going to continue these very disappointing, slow growth policies we see under President Obama? Or are we going to change course and rev up the economy?”

When asked what House Republicans are doing to reverse the trend, Chairman Brady said:

“Let’s start with a broken tax code that discourages investment … doesn’t grow middle class jobs. House Republicans are going to lay out later this summer our built for growth tax code that actually focuses on growing family paychecks, growing local jobs, and the U.S. economy.”
