April 17, 2020 — Blog    — Coronavirus Bulletin    — In Case You Missed It...    — Press Releases

Key points:

-The Treasury Department announced today that our nation’s veterans and their families who receive compensation and pension benefits won’t have to do any extra paperwork to receive relief payments as part of the CARES Act.

-These heroes and their loved ones will receive these payments the same way they receive their normal benefits.

Details:

As payments of up to $1,200 continue to reach Americans at a remarkably fast pace, the Trump Administration announced today that veterans and their families who receive C&P benefits will receive these payments too without filing extra paperwork.

This joint effort by the Treasury Department and the Veterans Administration is another move by the Administration to ensure Americans receive these payments quickly and hassle free.

“Economic Impact Payments will be issued automatically to our Veterans and their families who did not file tax returns for 2018 or 2019,” Secretary Mnuchin said. “The Treasury, IRS and VA are working hard to ensure our nation’s heroes receive these payments quickly and without any additional action or paperwork.”
