September 12, 2017

Here’s what Rep. Mitchell said:

I represent the 10th district of Michigan. I’m here in the Blue Water Convention Center in Port Huron, Michigan.

As I talk with workers, small business owners, and families here in Port Huron and across my district, it’s clear to me that our tax code is broken and must be fixed. It’s too complicated, too time consuming, and most families simply don’t understand their taxes. Workers and families should know how much of their paycheck they keep when they are paid.

Tax reform would allow families and small business owners to keep more of their hard-earned money in their own pockets rather than hope for a tax refund at the end of the year.

House Republicans are working to fix that. Our goal is to make our tax code simpler and fairer. We will lower individual and family tax rates, eliminate unfair special interest deductions, and make it simpler to file your taxes. We’re working to deliver the pro-growth, simple, and fair solutions Americans want.”
