August 01, 2017

In this week’s #TaxReformTuesday, Rep. Sam Johnson (R-TX) discusses how lowering tax rates for job creators of all sizes will help them hire more workers, grow paychecks, and prevent good-paying jobs from moving overseas.

Here’s what Rep. Johnson said:

“Hi, I’m Congressman Sam Johnson, and I represent the 3rd District of Texas.

“Today, I want to tell you what the House Republicans are doing to help job creators of ALL sizes hire more workers and grow paychecks across America.

“Specifically, we are working to bring the out-of-date and broken tax code into the 21st century through pro-growth tax reform.

“A big problem with the current tax code is that it pushes American jobs overseas. It also holds back the creation of good-paying jobs here in America.

“To fix this, we are proposing a lower, more competitive business tax rate. It makes no sense that we force our companies to pay the highest tax rate in the developed world.

“Lowering tax rates for businesses of all sizes will prevent good-paying jobs from moving overseas, and it will make our country more competitive.

“Pro-growth tax reform will help make America a welcome home for business once again.
