Each year, Women & Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, New York, delivers 10 to 15 Canadian babies.  One of those newborns that the Canadian government-run health care system had no room to help, was Ava Isabella Stinson, pictured above.  When Ava was born premature (weighing only 2 pounds and 4 ounces), the “lack of any empty beds in a neonatal unit” forced her parents to seek care in the United States.  A spokeswoman for the Canadian hospital told the Buffalo News that they are aware of the problem and have pushed the Ontario Ministry of Health for more beds.  To no avail. 

Welcome to life a under government-run health care system.  For now, families like the Stinsons will have to keep relying on the United States’ private health care system to avoid the rationing associated with Canadian’s government health care system.  But what will happen if the Democrats get their way and create a government-run plan that is managed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services, which sounds a lot like the Ontario Ministry of Health?  Where will those Canadian children go when the Democrat’s government health board rations care in the U.S?  Where will American children go?  Sadly, as we have learned, rationing of health care is a biproduct of government take-over of health care.
