New Report Confirms that ObamaCare Hurts Seniors

December 10, 2012 — The Prescription Pad

New research released by Health Affairs found that Medicare beneficiaries enrolled in Medicare Advantage (MA) are less likely to receive wasteful or questionable care than those in traditional Medicare.  Unfortunately, rather than strengthen and promote MA, ObamaCare will force 7 million beneficiaries out of Medicare Advantage by 2017.

The study found that beneficiaries enrolled in a MA HMO plan were using some health services, including costly trips to the emergency room, at a rate 20 to 30 percent lower than people in traditional Medicare.

Instead of utilizing the expertise of these plans, ObamaCare slashes $308 billion in payments to MA plans over the next decade.  Not only will seniors lose the plans they have and like, but they will be forced back into traditional Medicare:  an uncoordinated, inefficient, and severely outdated program.
