Brady Appointed to Tax Cuts and Jobs Act Conference Committee

December 05, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) issued the following statement after House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) appointed Chairman Brady and other Republican members of the House to serve on the conference committee to finalize the details of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act:

“Republicans in the House have been working toward this historic moment for years. Now it’s our time to come together with the Senate to deliver on our tax reform promise for the American people. Both chambers have put our best ideas forward – and now we will build off our ideas in a conference committee.  I am honored to chair this committee and look forward to working with my House and Senate colleagues and the White House to strengthen our ideas and ensure our bill improves the lives of all Americans.

“In the weeks ahead, we will send a bill to the President for the first time in 31 years that cuts taxes for families and job creators and ushers in a new era of economic growth. We are committed to delivering by the end of the year bold tax reform that creates more jobs, bigger paychecks, and fairer taxes.”
