Just Announced: Witnesses for How Tax Reform Will Simplify Our Broken Tax Code and Help Individuals and Families

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House Ways and Means Committee today announced the witnesses testifying before the Tax Policy Subcommittee on July 19th at a hearing entitled “How Tax Reform Will Simplify Our Broken Tax Code and Help Individuals and Families.”

The Honorable Bill Archer, Former Chairman, Committee on Ways and Means
Chairman Archer served as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1970 to 2001, and as Chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means from 1995 to 2001. Chairman Archer crafted and fought for enactment of the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997, the IRS Reform and Restructuring Act of 1998, Taxpayer Bill of Rights legislation, and numerous other pro-taxpayer initiatives. While a Member of the Ways and Means Committee, Chairman Archer personally filed his own individual tax return each year.
